Well, just a bit of background. I am shrinking yet again and have lost another 1/2" this year. That caused one bone scan and another back x-ray which then sent me off to an endocrinologist. Yet another doctor.
He studied things; ordered me to stop - yes stop - my calcium supplement intake; ordered me to take are you ready 50,000 somethings of D3; sent me off for blood work to check both the calcium and the D; and ordered this daily injection stuff called Forteo. I am to start drinking or consuming in some way 4 cups of milk/yogurt a day. All of this is do-able.
Then he told me to go to the www and look up posey hipsters. [note: be sure your mouth is empty when the site comes up as you will be spitting soda all over yourself otherwise.] I was to buy two pair and wear them day and night over my underpants. Can you see those under a latin costume. I can't even imagine how you would fit around those for pants -- I have enough hip already thank you very much. I guess women would wear skirt or jumpers or something all the time with these but I don't wear that. My hubby said maybe I could wait a few years before investing. I am just going to try and not fall.

just this morning I saw a tv commercial for "booty pop" panties -- you can google that ...

... we all want what we don't have and don't want what we do have .... that shape is one of the reasons why I need TCC to draft my pants patterns ... at least I can save the 20 bucks for those panties    Grin

Duckie,
I went through the same thing earlier when my doc said I had NO vitamin D in my body.  Three weeks  on the 50K units, followed up with 5K units daily for another month until my next blood work.  No wonder my mind wanders!  He said it is amazing that "you ladies just keep on doing what you do until you drop".  He said we need to give our guys a break because they are getting too feeble to pick us up off the floor, and most of them don't know how to run the washer/dryer.

I love my doc!

I have been on a drug since I was 16 that the doc. says sucks vitamin D from the body. How on earth on has no one figured this out in the last near 50 years??  Which also begs the question -- how on earth have I managed to as you say, stay upright. It is no wonder that I have been saying lately I am tired. Guess I have a really good reason.
Started the shots and having a small rash at each injection site but it doesn't itch so that is good and they are in a really good delivery system which makes it easy even with these horrible hands. Vitamin D is in the mail and I am looking forward to that. 3 cups of milk I find easy to consume. The 4th I am finding harder. Bought Chocolate milk yesterday so I am having it like dessert.
Worked today and some crazy lady was in for nearly 4 hours. Someone shoot me. I came home and drank dinner. Working retail is fun.

Duckie,
Sounds like you have a plan!  As for retail, at least it keeps you sharp - out of self defense.

I know it is frustrating about the medical problems. I still am having problems with 30 years of being fat, and being told I MUST be eating too much, when the medicine that I was prescribed causes the liver to not function well, and contributes to weight gain and retention. You would think that commonsense would have kicked in there somewhere! Sorry for the crab - but I resent the lost time and the embarrassment and the tiredness, etc. At least we both are getting better!

This must be the week for fat revelations:   I began life with a trainer today.  He is certified in the physical and nutritional aspects of getting where you need to be.  As I explained my gut surgery from two years ago, he told me it was no surprise to him that I was not regulating fat as well as I used to.  No Gall Bladder and most of the Duodenum gone means the main fat regulating organs are gone, therefore, I just hang on to the fat I eat.  Added to that the eight major scars I have on my abdomen, and I have the perfect storm situation for feeling awful and looking almost as bad.

I have devoted the next three months to him and will be able to accomplish more than before because I will be accountable to someone other than me.  Not only does he send text messages reminding me of our next appointment, my daughter is a workout devotee, and I am just determined to make the most of the money I just plunked down!

Oh....Kat, that means yet another day of measuring me at Fall Seminar.  Maybe it won't take so long because of less to measure?  heeheeheee

Let's show 'em somethin, ladies!!

Good luck on the workouts Kelly - I am sure that you will look fabulous at the fall conference! I hope to be another 25# lighter also. That makes me in the realm of smaller, just more flab than fab right now, unfortunately. However, I am continuing to swim and walk more, so hopefully things will get better on this end too. Keep us posted!

Well, I am competiting with Ballroom Dancing this weekend and tried on my Latin costume on Wednesday. That fat free milk I have been drinking is adding about 1.5 pounds a week [no more chocolate milk] and it was just enough to mean the thing won't come all the way up. The costume has a built in 'bathing suit' and my tush is bigger along with the sticky out tummy so even with tugging my bra was showing a good 1".  The next day, I joined WeightWatchers. Not in time for this showcase but something has to be done. I managed to add a piece of nude sheer to the sweetheart neckline. Hopefully it will be okay. I also put in about 4 hook and eyes down the back zipper as a safety net just in case the zipper fails.
So how many pounds is it before you have to remeasure from scratch?

I was thinking about that the other day and think it depends on the person.  We all know that someone tall can hide more pounds.

So I haven't given it much more thought but that's something to explore -- what circumference changes would signal a time to also check the verticals and diagonals?

My Novi sewing is DONE!  so maybe I will ponder that question on my drive north next week from Cincinnati to Detroit.  Right now I am thinking things like -- what to pack?  do I have everything?  have I forgotten to do something?  are the bills paid?  do I have money for the trip?  do I need to mow the grass? [that's a no, we've been in a drought and are 5" under for rainfall this summer ... grass is crunchy]

I lost a few pounds this summer ... and I mean a few ... like 3?  5 at absolute most ... and I needed to redo my pants msts -- the circums and the butt and cheek depths ...

I knew to remeasure because they were fitting loose and a little droopy and baggy.  So conversely a good look in the mirror will tell when/where things are starting to look tight or straining.  It's always a good idea to do a test muslin of a pattern to see if ease amts and neckline depths/widths/shapes and hem lengths are what you want.

BTW --BEST OF LUCK in the competition!
hmmm, I'm not getting the same special effects I used to, or at least I'm not seeing them in the preview -- that's the best I can do -- I thought "glow" meant something else

Well, the good news is that the Weight Watcher online stuff has a place with some simple quick measurements to keep track of so that will give me a way to monitor what is going on easily. I wear elastic waist knit pants that allow for a huge difference in weight swings so I think having that measurement trail will be beneficial.
Competition went well except for the West Coast Swing when my by then tired instructor decided to lead a step I had never seen before. Not a good place for teaching -- the competition floor. I asked him what are you doing [but think my mouth -- censored here] and we both started laughing.
Enjoy Novi everyone.

No sewing around here, but lots of other stuff.  Only a four pound weight loss in three weeks ( my fault ) but a previously tight pant slid on and gave me room to bend and breathe last night!  I can feel the tightness of my muscles under the insulation I have accrued.
-Maggie, our youngest, was proposed to on the star in the middle of the Cowboy Stadium yesterday.  The ring went on and the plans started spewing forth from her pretty mouth.  Sisters, help me!!!!
-DH is working on a huge project for his former company.  Some retirement.  The dining room that was my former sewing room is now his office.  On that line...progress on the house has screeched to a halt.
-I have two new students, one of whom is the daughter of a kiddo that lived across the street from DH when we lived in Houston almost 20 yrs ago.  Small world again.
-Finally got back into church choir practice on Wednesday nights.  I really missed it.
-Helped our quilting guru with her booth last weekend.  Sold some things and helped market her classes.
-Worked at "Grapefest" in Grapevine,TX by pouring during the tasting contest.  I poured about 300 1/2oz tastes to voters.  Our friend won a silver medal for his Shiraz.
-I really want to do some sewing with my current measurement chart so that I can look with even greater anticipation toward the fall seminar.

As Linda Ellerbee says... "and so it goes"

Dear Lord! I thought my schedule was crammed, but yours takes the cake. Whether you have new clothes or not, I hope to see you at the fall conference. We have some pretty cool things to look at - and try  Grin
