Hi All,
Our daughter is visiting here in Egypt for two weeks.  I am sitting here waiting for repair facilities while my DD is going to City Stars Mall (2nd biggest mall in Middle East, covers city block and is multi-stories tall.)

Our guest room (when not in use our exercise room) inside door lever decided to quit working.  DD was trapped inside the room the night she arrived for several hours, as she had tried in the middle of the night to visit the WC.  The walls are fairly well sound proofed, and we did not hear her pounding on her door.
Naturally she arrived on the weekend here in Egypt, and our facilities department was closed.  We ended up putting something on the door to keep it from closing completely until we could get it fixed.

Meanwhile I have been taking her sightseeing, visiting Giza Pyramids, Egypt Museum, Etc.  My legs are welcoming the break today while I wait.

We still have a lot of places to see and visit.   More pyramids, old Muslim and Coptic Cairo, Citadel etc.  There is also planned a Nile Dinner Cruise, a felucca (sail boat) ride, the Giza Sphinx and Pyramid sound and light show.  She also wants to visit the Khan-el-Khalili (oldest bazaar around and covers several city blocks.)  We want to go to the fabric Souk (several blocks bazaar of fabrics).  (I am not sure, but think her plans include me sewing something for her home from the fabric she picks)
The only plan for farther distance is to Alexandria, where we plan to spend a day.

My legs are still recovering from a 5 day river cruise and sightseeing trip between Luxor and Aswan that John and I took in FEB.  We visited several sites in Luxor the first day, including Valley of the Queens, and Valley of the Kings, all require a lot of walking and climbing.  We had hoped to beat the heat, but it was 98 that day.  None of the rest of the stops were quite as severe a workout, but my ankles were swollen the rest of the trip.

The cooking is difficult, because she is a vegetarian.  Not completely vegan, as she will eat eggs and dairy.   I do not have many recipes for main meals that do not include meat, though internet offers many recipes.  The problem is getting the ingredients here in Egypt.  However, many restaurants deliver here, and most have some vegetarian selections.   We may get delivered food often.   (Especially when my poor ankles do not want much standing after sightseeing)

As you can see from the above, I will probably not be able to attend the chats until she leaves, unless she is resting from her sightseeing.

It sounds like a wonderful time though - as long as  you can survive all the exercise! With Tari and Duckie publishing the logs from the chats, hopefully you will be able to at least see what you are missing.  And we will miss you!
