Kathryn,

DO NOT SEND THAT this way!    Grin

We've had a lot of rain (and thunder) but no sleet, ice or snow.....but then tomorrow is another day!

See you next week!

Yesterday on my way to church, I drove thru sun, rain, pea sized hail and great, big snow flakes!  Today, its between sunny and overcast, but no rain.  We've had snow right on the beach the past few days.  I plan to bring a few blazers and a light raincoat, just in case. Grin

The 10 day forecast for Elgin has us in the low 50's, cloudy most days, rainy a couple days. That is about normal for early April here.

I hope I'm not jinxing anything by saying that I think spring is FINALLY happening here in Elgin. We had our 1st day over 70 degrees this year yesterday. Actually, it had been 178 days since the last 70 or higher. We're back to construction noise outside my office window, my 1st daffodils are blooming, and I have the tiniest little lettuce sprouts poking up in my garden.

forgot to mention the gorgeous, tiny little blue scilla, starry white chiondoxa, and this morning, the beginnings of pink buds opening on my saucer magnolia! Of course what usually happens in Chicago is that the magnolia just starts looking nice and WHAM heavy rain, a windstorm, snow, SOMEthing to spoil it. But I am hopeful this year that none of those will happen.

Well - It is now!  What a gorgeous day in Rochester, though I had inside stuff I had to do.  But wonderful weather!

I have blue squill, snowdrops, daffodils, and a ton of other things coming up. The yard is starting to burst with green growth and flowers. So I would definitely vote for spring being here!

Years ago I purchased a funky junky birdhouse at an art fair.  Yesterday, while painting doors, we noticed that a family of birds had moved in and the eggs had hatched.  Noisy, funny, precious.  Mom and dad feeding and protecting.  Yep, it's spring.

No spring here!  I drove to work in a hard snow of HUGE snowflakes.  Its was beautiful!  So far the only thing I've gotten planeted is a box of cat nip on the kitchen window sill.  Still too cold at night for anything else.  It was 33 degrees F this morning. Anyone who thinks living at the beach is always warm needs to visit here!  If I didn't have to work, I'd be on the next train back to Elgin!
