If you are like me, I haven't sewn anything of substance in quite awhile, therefore, I am challenging y'all ( yep, Texan) :

- have you made a skirt skimmer that resulted in a skirt you have worn in public?  If so, will you post a picture?
- if your skirt worked, were you able to translate it into pants that have been in public?  Pics?Huh??
- for those of you who are pleased with your bodice and skirt, can you attach them to each other to make a dress? Pics?Huh?

If we can see each other producing garments and being proud enough to send pics, I know I would be greatly encouraged.  I got so hung up on perfecting the bodice that I don't have any idea how much I've screwed up my skirt and pants!  My next time at the sewing machine will be to check my skirt skimmer, then my fitted pant skimmer.  While doing those, I will compare my measurements with the ones that are printed on the page, and with the ones I actually measure off the page.

Anyone want to join me?

Dear Kelly et al,

I'm still working on my skimmers (they've been on-hold for the last 6 months), but your "challenge" has inspired me to get working on them, so I'm in.

a better bodice skimmer pattern should be to the EAs within the next few days ... so if you're currently working on that, you might want to hold up and see how the better one changes in relation to issues you might be seeing

I have a couple good skirts that I made last March, but they don't photograph well -- one is in black denim (a straight skirt pattern with a fly front and some "jeans" topstitching) and another in a burgundy/wine moleskin (the 4-gore skirt).

I'll see if I can get some acceptable pics tomorrow that I can post in the gallery of those skirts.

Hi Kelly,

Mostly I have been making scrubs for work,(used the undarted top with side shaping, and a lengthened shoulder princess pattern for the scrub tops.) but I do have a couple skirts and just finished a pair of semi-fitted pants.
No camera here right now.  As soon as I can get my hands on one again, I'll post some pictures.

Yep!  I am just ready to circle back to the skirt myself.  The blouse and pants seem good to me.  I have been visiting family and  so I am ready to get started again.  Linda

Kelly,

That's a great idea. I'm a bit more than 1/2 through my weight loss so I won't be joining you at this time. I'm going to work on improving my techniques and playing with the program. Very good idea though. I look forward to seeing the pics!

Take care,

Kay Ellen,

You have always been so determined and loyal to your projects.  I admire you for that.  I had my hair analyzed for mineral, etc. content and I am out of whack with certain key minerals.  For the next three months, I am determined to be good and follow the prescribed program.  If the program makes me feel better and alleviates my digestive problems I can take surgery "off the table".  The symptoms and illnesses that go along with the results of the testing are exactly what I am experiencing so my hopes are high.

Even with all the work and changes on the bodice my skirt still fits.  The skimmer was so good that I jumped right into a "real" straight skirt.  My 40th high school reunion is Nov 4 and the world reknowned Lamar High School Choralettes ( of which I am a member ) will be reuniting for a performance.  The celebration is including all 70 years of graduates from Lamar.  We have been asked to wear a black skirt ( which I did not have ) and a white blouse.  I do have a blouse but I am going to try and make one for the performance.  Hopefully the new drop will help.  Hint....hint....

As promised, when I get the waistband on and the hem in I will post pictures of the skirt.  Because it was such a success I am going to take the time to examine the fitted pants before I go to the reunion.

Hip hip hooray!!  My skirt is finished and looks fabulous.  I took out the camera, got it all positioned, and the battery is dead.
I am charging it right now and will post pics in the Gallery as soon as I can.

Thank you Kelly. It seems this is my year for learning goal setting and realizing I *can* accomplish what I set my mind to.  I hope staying with your program comes easily and does alleviate your symptoms eliminating any possible surgeries.

I am very impressed by your skirt results!!!  I can't wait to get measurements again and good skimmers. I'll be thrilled to be at one weight and stay there, so I actually can focus on designing and sewing my clothes versus a never ending chase of the "fit" because I keep changing.

Take care,

I wore my new black straight skirt to church this morning and received several compliments on its look.  Two ladies even made me promise to tell them when the general release happens because they want to purchase the program!

Sounds like a new users' group in the making.

Hi Kelly,

Sorry I haven't posted pictures yet. My husband finally found the card for the camera, so it is functioning, but my daughter was just married Oct 21. We have been a bit busy over here. Grin
Now I am in the process of making my new extra bedroom into my sewing room.
I promise, I will get some new pictures up as soon as the dust settles.

I would like to get in touch with you Dierdre.  I have a stepson who lives on BI; are you attending the Puyallup Expo.  My e-mail is stewart@peak.org.  I attempted to send you an e-mail direct but you have blocked e-mails.
